Updating SJU’s COM Department’s Promotional Materials
Create a booklet or pamphlet highlighting the key features, courses offered, full-time department professors, and other important details of SJU’s COM Department. In addition a promotional video will be made discussing the value of this department with Professor, Student, and Alumni statements, with visuals aligned with the major. This is of interest to me because I noticed that all of our promotional materials are incredibly outdated. I also feel that I have gained so much from this department with in the past 4 years and want to contribute to it’s future in some way. This would challenge me, because it’ll give me the opportunity to create something that will potentially be used by a professional organization if done of a high enough standard.
To complete this I intend to use Adobe Softwares including but not limited to: Photoshop, Illustrator, Lightroom, InDesign, and Premiere Pro. I also intend to use gear such as Cameras, lenses, tripods, and audio equipment for photography and videography purposes.
The final tangibles will be a booklet and/or pamphlet, video, and potentially stickers for the core classes.

Produce Social Media Content for a Local Small Business
Produce video content that can be used for Instagram posts for a small local company called The Juice Pod. This is of interest to me because I have worked at the Juice Pod since they have first opened about 4 years ago, and social media has always been a weak point for the company. Recently they hired a media company to manage their instagram, but they lack in video content. This would challenge me since I have never worked with this genre of video creation, that being food. I also would have to challenge myself to precisely edit videos to appeal to Instagram algorithms.
To complete this project I would utilize gear such as a camera, Tripod, Lighting Equipment, a gimbal, and also video editing software such as Premiere Pro.
The final product of this project would consist of 10 high quality, edited, 15 – 30 second Instagram Reels that can also be used for TikTok as well of The Juice Pod’s product offerings.
Create a Design Persona & Brand Package
Develop and create mockups for a theoretical brand. This will include an entire design persona book and create mockups such as social media branding, business cards, web page layouts, etc. that apply to the business. One of my favorite niche hobbies is painting nails, and in the back of my mind it’s something I always wanted to start a little business for, so what better way to start putting it into perspective is to create a brand for the potential business! This would be a challenge for me since the company is completely from scratch, so I’d have to condense a broad idea down into a definitive brand design and think of effective implementation methods.
To complete this project I will use Adobe Software, including: Illustrator, InDesign, and Photoshop.
The final product will consist of a Design Persona Book, Business Cards, Logos, Social Media & Website Mockups, and anything else that will come along with that
