Pitch #1: one that engages your personal/creative life in some way

An Interview-Style Short Series About The Key To A Happy Marriage

When I was in my Junior year of high school, I began a thread in my Notes app that was consistently centered around one question: “What is the key to a happy marriage?” Over the past several years I have written down responses from married people of all ages including family members, my friends parents, grandparents, strangers, etc. The answer I have gotten range from short sentiments, sarcastic and lighthearted anecdotes, and often times serious advice that can be applied to many aspects of life. It is fascinating to hear the opinions people have, experiences that they share, and the advice they pass on.

For my project I would like to interview (mostly) strangers in the Philadelphia area and ask them the same question, film their responses, and create it into a short series. I have taken two film classes before, and I would like to use my camera skills to creatively compile a series of short episodes, or one longer episode, of life/love advice that they are willing to share. The general picture I have is something similar to this (but much longer, 30+ minutes).

I would use Premiere Pro, a microphone, a camera, and a tripod. The project would challenge me because although I have put together short films, I haven’t focused so much on recording one on one interviews, or paid that much attention to smooth transitions (in an interview type of setting).

Pitch #2: one that looks toward your possible future career and/or graduate educational journey that will showcase skills and approaches necessary for a job or graduate school admissions

Rebranding Popular Brands In Support Of Social Movements

Last year for a Business of Sports project I created a rebrand for the 76ers’ Pride Month social media campaign. The goal was to engage the LGBTQ+ community in Philadelphia and make them feel welcome and appreciated in the month of June and beyond. I would like to continue creating similar content for other brands (from clothing to sports teams and celebrities, etc) while supporting a variety of movements (locally and globally). I would use Adobe Illustrator and Canva Pro.

A Podcast That Shared Small Business Owners’ Experiences

My third idea for the project would be to interview small business owners in Manayunk about the hardships they faced post-covid + post-hurricane Ida. Ideally I would like it to have video, but it would ultimately be up to the participants if they want their faces shown. I would use Premiere Pro, a microphone, a camera, and a tripod.
