1. My first idea is a youtube video interview series with SJU student-athletes, coaches, and administrators that focuses on the new direction that division 1 athletics is heading in. Especially, how this new direction will affect a smaller school like SJU. From the new transfer rules, to NIL deals, to balancing budgets, division 1 athletics is changing at a pace that has never been seen before. I think it would be interesting to see how athletes, coaches and administrators think that this new direction will affect a small, non-football school like SJU. I think using youtube as a platform for this would be useful because it is an easily shareable platform that does not require building a following.
  2. My second idea is to create a podcast series that discusses the influence that athletes and musicians have had on fashion in the 21st century. Athletes and musicians have always had an impact on fashion, but it has become more prevalent in the past 20 years or so. Michael Jordan, Serena Williams, Christianaldo Rinaldo, Travis Scott, Kanye West, and Drake are some of the most popular athletes and musicians on the planet and they have used their popularity to disrupt the fashion industry. I would like to document the history of the sport/music and fashion crossover as well as the role that the person and the brands have played and also discuss what it will look like moving forward.
  3. My final idea is a short documentary on the Grape Room in Manayunk. The Grape Room is an interesting place because it is home to comedy open mics, music open mics, and hosts local live music. It is a place where local artists attempt to get their start. It offers a diverse amount of entertainment and is unlike many places in the area. I think it would be interesting to document the history of the Grape Room, the people that run it, and the people that perform there.
