I’m dedicated to making sure that my sports podcast project is inclusive and accessible to all listeners as I go into its development. I’ve located areas of exclusion in the project website and the podcast episodes themselves, using the guidelines provided by the Microsoft Inclusive Design Toolkit.

The reliance on audio material in podcast episodes is one important area of omission. For people who prefer visual material or who have hearing problems, this may be difficult. Furthermore, convoluted language or fast-paced speech might turn off listeners with cognitive impairments. These scenarios show mismatched human interactions in which the podcast’s content design fails to take into account the wide range of demands that potential listeners may have.

I want to incorporate accessibility features, such closed captioning for every episode, to solve this exclusion point. People who prefer to read over listen will be able to access the information since closed captioning will give a written depiction of spoken discourse. Furthermore, I will guarantee clear and precise communication, steering clear of technical terms and offering clarifications as needed. My goal in following these best practices is to make my audio content more readable.

The Instagram project is another area of exclusion, especially with regard to its visual layout and user interface. Small font sizes, intricate layouts, and the absence of alt language for photos can all be obstacles for those with cognitive or visual impairments. Furthermore, people with motor impairments may find it more difficult to browse when navigation functions are inaccessible.

My distribution strategy is to reach a wide range of sports fans. In addition, I’ll use word-of-mouth advertising and Instagram to promote the project and draw in new listeners. Using a variety of distribution platforms, I hope to connect with a diverse audience of people who are passionate about inclusive content and sports.

In summary, using inclusive design principles is crucial to improving accessibility and expanding my sports podcast project’s audience. I want to make a podcast that is interesting, inclusive, and accessible for all listeners by figuring out where there are points of exclusion, putting access design solutions in place, and distributing the information wisely.
